Why I Chose This
I saw the movie poster and was like “this looks interesting, I wanna watch this.”, so I went ahead and watched it. Didn’t regret it, rather the opposite, as it was such a great experience.
After watching Disney’s life-action The Little Mermaid, which disappointed me, I was excited to watch this one.
The Basics
Migration (2023) follows a duck family of four—Mack, Gwen, Dax, and Pam. Mack, the father, has spent years refusing to migrate with the rest of his flock. When he finally opens up to the idea, the journey brings surprises, challenges, and discoveries none of them expected.
What Worked
The animation is gorgeous, and the English voice cast deserves major credit. Every actor injects just the right amount of emotion—their delivery feels believable, not forced.
But the real magic? The story. It’s beautifully relatable. Getting out of your comfort zone is terrifying—but once you take that first step, it gets easier. The ducks don’t just survive their journey; they find a home that’s even better than where they started.
