Why Did I Watch Culpa Nuestra Our Fault?
I simply gave it a try, since I loved the first and enjoyed the sequel. However, for me, it wasn’t as good as those two, so, I’m basically not rewatching it as many times as the sequel, or the first one.
The Basics
(Culpa Nuestra) Our Fault marks the third and final chapter in the Spanish romance trilogy following Noah and Nick. After the turbulence of My Fault and the complications of Your Fault, this installment aims to resolve their journey. The story continues to focus on forbidden love, family entanglements, and personal growth, staying true to the contemporary YA drama roots that launched the series.
What Worked
Still Watchable: Overall, it was still an alright movie. The production value remains high, and the chemistry between the leads hasn’t entirely evaporated. If you’re invested in the characters from the start, there are moments here that pay off previous emotional arcs.
Visuals & Tone: The aesthetic holds up. Lighting, settings, and costumes keep the vibe consistent with the previous films, which helps maintain continuity. For fans who just want to see where the story lands, it delivers a conclusion even if it doesn’t thrill you along the way.
What Didn’t Work
Diminishing Returns: I didn’t enjoy the movie as much as the first (Culpa Mia) or the sequel (Culpa Tuya). There’s a sense of fatigue setting in by this point. The conflicts feel repetitive compared to the fresh energy of Part 1 and the escalation of Part 2.
Emotional Payoff: The stakes sometimes feel lower than before, or conversely, forced in ways that don’t resonate as deeply. While the first two movies had moments that truly gripped me, Culpa Nuestra felt more like checking boxes to reach an ending rather than organic storytelling.
Final Thoughts
A solid finale for fans, though it lacks the electric chemistry of the original.
If you’ve followed Noah and Nick this far, you’ll want to see it through. If you’re joining late, however, you might find the journey a bit exhausting before the credits roll.
