Teaser Tuesday is a weekly event by Zeilengezwitscher about two sentences that get randomly chosen and quoted. The best case would be them making others curious about the book.
These are my Top 3 quotes of the week – fantasy and romance.
As I read more than one book atm and couldn’t decide which to go with, I went with all of them, biographies aside.
I enjoy all of them in their way and can recommend each.
I went only for books this time.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi [Fantasy and Romance]
Juliette Ferrars, a 17-year-old girl, with a lethal touch. She is locked away because society sees her as a threat.
I’m thunder and lightning and the possibility of exploding into tears at any inopportune moment. Bliss Bliss Bliss is beating through my chest.
p. 172 – Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
I’m on page 185 out of 329 and enjoy it so far. Juliette and the two other male protagonists make really interesting characters.
Love, Chai, and Other Four-Letter Words by Annika Sharma [Romance]
It’s a sweet story about two people finding love where they at least expected it to happen.
“Wow”, Nash managed, staring at her. He took a bite of his own and groaned loudly, in awe of the fresh taste of olive oil drizzled onto the top of the slice and how it brought the flavors together.
p. 193 – Love, Chai, and Other Four-Letter Words by Annika Sharma
Kiran’s eyes widened; she blushed and looked away quickly.
I’m on page 230 out of 374, and started reading it a while ago. I enjoy the style and communication between the characters.
A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness [Fantasy and Romance]
I’m on page 360 out of 690. I started this one in 2021 and almost put it on my DNF list, but I couldn’t. I still want to give it a chance here, so I keep it around until I find the energy to read 700 pages of a book.
My eyes flew open. There was no mistaking the sharp look on his face. It was avid, hungry. Matthew was a creature of instingt now. But I had instincts, too.
p. 209 – A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness
I’m on page 360 out of 690. I started this one in 2021 and almost put it on my DNF list, but I couldn’t. I still want to give it a chance here, so I keep it around until I find the energy to read 700 pages of a book.
Do you know any of those? Have you read any? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments!
“The old pain had started up again, throbbing in my chest, stomach, bones. It wasn’t healthy to be encased in a body for so long. How humans can stand it without going completely mad, I’ll never know. Then again… maybe that explains a lot.“ — Jonathan Stroud, book The Amulet of Samarkand
Interesting quote!
