Why Did I Watch Spider-Man Brand New Day?
It’s the fourth movie with Tom Holland, and for me personally, it’s mostly about Spider-Man now. So, I basically had it on my this year’s must-watch list.
The Basics
The movie continues right after Dr. Strange puts the spell up which erases the world’s memory of Spider-Man. So, basically, he has a different kind of challenge to approach here, not only the usual villains.
Peter Parker is navigating life as the only person who remembers his entire history with magic, friends, and villains—all while trying to be Spider-Man for a world that doesn’t know his face. It’s an isolated, lonely existence that forces him to rebuild everything from scratch.

What Worked
Honestly? All of it. I loved the experience.
Pete and MJ are so adorable together, and they even got a moment or two to shine as a maybe-couple. And Ned is a personal favorite for bestie material—he brings that loyal, grounded energy that keeps Peter human. Frank is also such a nice, supportive character throughout. All of them make the movie pretty great as it goes along because I found myself care about these people beyond just the superpowers.
What Didn’t
I can’t really put anything here, as I couldn’t tell. No major complaints from this viewing. Sometimes a movie just hits all the right notes, and this one did for me.
Final Thoughts
Watching the movie was such a joy—totally a great movie, one of my favorite releases of the year, for sure!
If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the character work alone is worth the ticket. The chemistry between Peter, MJ, and Ned carries a lot of the weight, and it pays off in ways that feel earned rather than forced. It’s refreshing to see a superhero film that knows when to slow down and let the characters breathe between the explosions.
